I am sure this is good news to the ears and eyes of
the Real Madrid diehard fans as the team battled to a 1-0 victory away to Real
Sociedad to keep their La Liga title challenge on track.
Madrid, a point behind Barcelona and Atletico
Madrid at the start of the day, appeared to be keeping their focus on
Wednesday’s Champions League semifinal second leg as Zinedine Zidane selected a
largely second-string side at Anoeta.
They dominated the first half in San Sebastien but,
despite the best efforts of Gareth Bale, they struggled to truly test home
goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.
Bale, carrying the attack in the absence of the
injured Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, continued to threaten in the
second half and eventually headed home his 19th league goal of the season in
the 80th minute.
